We're all so grateful to have you as part of our YWs Lani (especially us Beehives!!). You are so kind & loving & fun to be around & you give awesome lessons! You have the most beautiful Christlike personality & really do give the best hugs - so thank you for just being you & someone we all LOVE to be around. Combined Etiquette/Dine & Dance Evening

For last night's activity we had a combined etiquette/dine & dance evening where the youth got to put into practice the etiquette & dancing taught to them by Sister Huysmans & Brother & Sister Williams the previous week :) 

We started the evening by having the YW take off one of their shoes & place it in the middle of the cultural hall & then wait out in the foyer while the YM came in one by one, chose a shoe & then went to fit it to the foot of their Cinderella for the night....

Once the boys had found the Cinderella that belonged to their shoe, they then had to go & find a table to sit at for the dinner...

But before dinner could be served each group had to arrange their table using the proper table set up they'd been taught the previous week & then had to make sure that they were using good etiquette throughout their meal. Dinner was pumpkin soup & bread & dessert was chocolate brownie & icecream :)

After dinner, it was onto the dancing & the youth were each given a dance card with 12 spaces they had to try & fill.

After that we played the game where you have to get into groups the size of whatever number is called out when the music stops..

These guys just pretty much huddled for the whole of that game haha :)

I'm not sure Sinareah really likes the camera much lol ;)

Then last but not least, we finished up with a game of good ol' musical chairs :)

And then Miss Kjirsti took out the dance card prize :) Go the YW!!

Life panel

Last Tuesday we invited some of the older & wiser members of our ward to come in & sit on our life panel. 

Sister Hapeta, The Murrays & the Frasers

The YW had prepared questions in advance & so all the panel members had to do was answer them according to their life experiences thus far :) 

It was both an enjoyable & informative evening & there were a lot of laughs had along with all the serious stuff. 

Here was the closing advice our experts left us with...

1. Do what you love

2. Don't ever be the reason the Gospel stops with you

3. Get an education

4. Don't grow up too fast 

5. Respect yourself

All very important things to remember!

Cake decorating

A couple of weeks ago now, we had a combined cake decorating competition for our activity. We split the girls into 3 teams gave them 3 sponge cakes, some icing & a bag of lollies each & got them to plan & then decorate a kid's birthday cake. All the groups did such an awesome job! This is what the plain sponge cakes had transformed into by the end of the night....

Happy 18th birthday beautiful Alda! I remember years ago when you were a little cutie back in primary & now you've matured into a gorgeous YW & are off to join the YSAs! How did those years go by so quick?!
